Hi Diane! I use thinking stems all the time but haven't even thought to do them continuously. I would imagine you can really see the development of their thinking. Adding that to my plans now. :)

I have also been using the thinking stems in my special ed classroom and have been surprised by how much the kids actually love doing them. I converted the stems into little booklets, with one stem on a page and then adapted it for older and younger kids. They are now able to complete an entire thinking stem independently as a response to reading...some of which we have even published in the
