Brain Based Teaching PPT presented at #EdcampPlano

Here is the PowerPoint I shared at #EdcampPlano.  I discussed some fantastic information I've been learning in BrainSMART and utilizing in my class.

A lot of the information I used came from the BrainSMART 60 Strategies book pictured here.
Please see my Amazon side panel for more recommended reading.

What an amazing group of teachers! I had a wonderful time learning from and sharing with everyone.  Edcamps are the way to go.

Enjoy!

Diane, what do you mean by track time? Is it skimming or previewing the text?

This is great!

Hi Melissa,
Track time is when we go around the track once or twice before beginning Language Arts or Math instruction. It helps with attention and focus. :)

Diane,

Just looking at this presentation again - so jam packed with useful information! Thank you for sharing.

As for your previous comment to Melissa, ...we go around the track...I'm still trying to understand - do you mean the running track???!! Sorry - no idea!

Thank you :)

Hi Jessica,
Yes, sorry! We have a small jogging/walking track around out playground. If it's raining then we use a Thumbball.

Here's the thumbball link:

I should have mentioned the thumbball in the presentation. Oh well, next time. :)
Thanks!

Thanks, Diane. I've bookmarked this post, and I'm going to be looking at the slideshow again later on this evening. This is worthy of a retweet!
